⭕ The Cabildo has opened the public information period for 20 business days for seven projects for fast charging points for electric vehicles. They will initially be located in tourist areas, three in the North and four in the South. Adeje will have two stations on la Avenida Bruselas in Costa Adeje and la Avenida Barranco Las Torres in the area close to the TF-1. Another will be located on Calle Neptuno de Abades (Arico) and Guía de Isora will have one on the Paseo de la Libertad in Chío. In the north, they will be installed on Calle Camelia, in Puerto de la Cruz, Calle Leonor Monteverde in La Orotava and in El Calvario in El Sauzal.

⭕ Santa Cruz is closer to recovering one of its most historic buildings, the old Spa located on the San Andrés highway, near María Jiménez, which will be rehabilitated to transform it into an Anaga health centre, providing cover to the entire area currently served by the Casa del Mar.

⭕ Santa Cruz Council proposed on Friday the initiative to carry out a pilot test with a bus lane so that, from the Fishing Dock and up to Las Teresitas beach, it will decongest the traffic that occurs in the area on weekends and holidays. The pilot tests will be carried out for four days from June 20 to 23 to evaluate whether vehicle circulation is improved.

⭕ It is defined as a “mirror ship” and has a heliport, a mini-submarine and is docked in Santa Cruz. The yacht comes from Cape Verde, is almost 70m long and 11m wide and can accommodate 20 crew and 12 guests. It will stay until Sunday, June 23, according to Puertos of Tenerife.

⭕ El Médano will have two new modular parking infrastructures, with around 230 spaces and the possibility of being expanded, in two points of this coastal enclave. The new parking lots will be located on the outskirts of El Médano adjacent to the soccer field and near the M3 sports centre. 

⭕ Even on a Sunday morning there are huge delays on the highway in the north of Tenerife, the TF-5, due to traffic accidents. This was the case at 11.00am yesterday when an incident occurred at the height of the El Sauzal curve in the direction of Santa Cruz.  This followed a serious accident on Saturday night at 10.00pm when the TF5 saw significant delays. This took place near Guajara where a car overturned and a further six vehicles were involved. Witnesses said those involved were trapped in the vehicles, although the four victims two men and two women, aged 24, 18, 49 and 28 years old only had moderate and minor injuries, so they were transferred to different hospitals on the Island.

⭕ The Guardia Civil Guard has seized 58,000 counterfeit articles in the province of Santa Cruz that have been valued at €22 million. This was reported on Sunday, adding that in the operation 82 people have been investigated in two operations for crimes against industrial property and a total of 80 shops have been inspected on the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.

⭕ Costa Cruises has announced a new itinerary for winter 2025-2026 that will take a tour of the Canary Islands. The cruise allows guests to explore six islands in a week’s holiday, boarding from Las Palmas or Santa Cruz. The itinerary includes a visit to five Canary Islands: Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, as well as a stop in Madeira. The price varies depending on dates but the lowest will be €77 per night and the most expensive €139 also per person per night. The cost includes full board, with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks included, as well as shows and fun on board. Reservations can now be made on the company’s website.

⭕ The Minister for Social Welfare and Children of the Canary Islands, warns that the community, which cares for 5,600 unaccompanied migrant minors, is experiencing a “war situation”, which is why it is already planning to set up tents to house the 11,000 more children expected to arrive on the islands this year.

⭕ Buen Paso neighbourhood in Icod de los Vinos has decided to remove fireworks displays and the launching of rockets from the programme of events. The decision has been made unanimously, and although it is a tradition as noisy as it is rooted in the custom of the place, they generate problems such as episodes of anxiety in children and children with autism, disorders in people with hyperacusis, stress in older people, noise pollution, risk of fires and the well-known inconvenience to animals explains the festival commission.
