San Isidro to have a new gastronomic market

Granadilla de Abona will have a new Farmer’s Market, which will replace the current one and in addition to the facilities for the sale of agricultural and livestock products, there will be a multifunctional area with gastronomic spaces in the style of the San Miguel market, in Madrid, with training workshops for the catering sector.

The new site will be built in San Isidro, in La Jurada, between the streets of Isla de La Gomera and La Constitución, next to the municipal swimming pool. This will allow access on foot from this town and easy access from the motorway. The market will cover an area of 3,000 square meters (compared to 844 of the current market) and will have a large parking area for 156 vehicles.

The difference compared to the current facilities will also be the size of the stalls (the smallest will be 9 square meters, compared to 4 now).  The project is anticipated to take approximately 2 years to complete.
