It is a cloudless morning. The sun was wide awake before 8.00 am and casting long shadows on the mountain. Temperatures are on the chilly side at just 13°C but it is early so plenty of time for things to start warming up.
According to one newspaper ‘January in The Canary Islands saw the lowest maximum temperatures on record since 1969’. Yet many weather stations in the archipelago have recorded between 10-40% more hours of sunshine than expected although North Tenerife airport shows -31% less than normal.
Yesterdays weather cheered up a little. The sun shone intermittently between a sky that was mostly filled with white clouds. And then around 16.00 just when we thought 19°C was going to be the top temperature, some heat came into the sun and temperatures shot up to 25°C shame it couldn’t have been earlier in the day but it was lovely while it lasted, as was the sunset.
