It was another sultry night, the heat clinging and clammy and the streetlights haloed with eerie light due to the haze that seems thicker at night than through the day. Nevertheless, we got through it and woke this morning to …. still more mist but nothing like as thick as yesterday. Temperatures are 23°C.
Oh my, yesterday was HOT! The thermometer was showing 31°C but because it was airless, it felt more like 41°C. The sun did break through the haze but when I looked at the webcams around the island, the beaches were almost deserted, probably just a bit TOO HOT! By comparison, though, we were lucky as the further up the mountain you go the hotter it gets. A lady in Taucho said it was 38C where she lived and that was 4.00pm. Phew!
