Siam Park

Today is your lucky day. You are on Tenerife, an island which emerged from the sea depths more than 20 million years ago (after the dinosaurs where extinguished) and which was home to a prehistoric people known as the Guanches. Throughout history, it has been a key port in the routes to Africa and America, coveted by pirates and corsairs, and nowadays it is a symbol of progress and safety and a world standard setter in terms of tourism, leisure and fun.

If what you are looking for is contact with nature, you must not miss a visit to the highest peak of Spain, Mount Teide (3,718 metres), an awe-inspiring volcanic landscape, more akin to Mars than to the Earth. Explore the laurisilva forests of Anaga, last living witnesses of the Tertiary Age or the sinuous Barranco del Infierno ravine. Paraglide over the Orotava Valley and land on black-sanded beaches. If you are a runner or a cyclist, welcome to the land of challenges to human resistance. And, of course, you cannot leave without sighting a colony of whales and dolphins; there are 23 different species in this world cetacean sanctuary.

Plus, if you want to have a great time with the family, then you must visit Loro Parque, rated by TripAdvisor as #1 zoo in Europe and #2 in the world, with majestic killer whales, dolphins, friendly sea lions, penguinarium and the largest parrot reserve in the world. Or alternatively, you can ride on the thrilling attractions of Siam Park, the #1 water park of the world (TripAdvisor), which has just opened the Singha aquatic roller-coaster.

There are lots more theme parks for all types of public and preferences. The TOP10 include the go-karts circuit (Karting Club, Karting Indoor), water parks (Aqualand Costa Adeje), tree-climbing and zip-lines (Forestal Park) or fauna (Jungle Park). And you must not miss the mysterious and exciting visit to the Pirámides de Güímar Park, a museum opened by Norwegian ethnographer Thor Heyerdahl.
