Pablo Rodriguez, the Minister of Public Works and Transport has described the measures and actions that the Canarian Executive will launch, aimed at alleviating the serious traffic congestion problems that occur every day on Tenerife roads, mainly the TF-1 and TF-5.

The Ministry is working on updating and drafting “fundamental” projects to advance those works that will be incorporated into the new road agreement that is currently being negotiated. “The agreement, which should be signed this year, will include various projects aimed at solving the island’s congestion problems,” he explained and pointed to some of them as the Chafiras-Oroteanda link in TF-1;The third lane of the TF-1, in the section San Isidro – Las Américas; and the new BUS-VAO lane of the TF-5, as examples.

€480,000 will be allocated to the update of the El Tanque – Santiago del Teide project, in order to complete the island ring, which the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Canarian Executive will finance through Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).
