Casting Call for Sunset Boulevard

Auditions open for ‘Sunset Boulevard’, the new musical at the Auditorio de Tenerife.

Those interested must submit the required documentation (a close-up photo, a full-length photo and CV) before June 29 at 12.00 hours via email to: casting@auditoriodetenerife The selected participants, will be notified by email. The first audition is for Monday, July 3, the second and third recalls on 4th and 5th.

The requirements for soloist are as follows:
The starring role of Max von Mayerling requires a baritone/bass singer approx. 40 years of age with experience in operatic theater.
For the role of Joe Gillis, an actor who is also a singer baritone / tenor. It is essential to have a good physical appearance and to be between the ages of 22 and 35 years.
Finally, a mezzo-soprano is sought for Betty Schaefer.

To complete the cast, singers of both sexes, with dancing skills are required to perform various roles and should be no more than 29 years old.

Male candidates must prepare a song from the musical: Max von Mayerling, “The Greatest Star of All”, Joe Gillis, “Sunset Boulevard” and a member of the male ensemble, “The Lady’s Paying.”

For the female characters, the candidates must prepare for the casting test the following songs: Betty Schaefer, “Too Much In Love To Care” and the female ensemble, “A Little Suffering”.

In all cases candidates will also be able to present a song of choice within the scope of musical theater.

The premiere in Spanish of Sunset Boulevard  will be next Christmas starring Paloma San Basilio, the great lady of musical theater in Spain. The company, is made up of 20 actors / singers,
