Torneo Nacional Alevín F-7

The Canary Foundation Pedro Rodriguez Ledesma has organized for the second consecutive year, the ‘Torneo Nacional Alevín F-7’. Admission is free and will take place on Saturday, June 10, from 9.00 – 21.00 in the Campo Municipal La Palmera, San Isidro. In this edition, participating teams are Atletico Madrid, CD Tenerife, Las Palmas and CF Balaguer, plus twelve teams from the south of the island.

Valle San Lorenzo remembers the Virgin of Fátima

The Romería is celebrated this Friday in the church of San Lorenzo with a special act to commemorate the centenary of the apparition of the Virgin to the shepherds in Cova da Iría, Fatima. The members of the parish organize this unique pilgrimage in collaboration of the Ayuntamiento de Arona, in which “eight timeless characters will bring us closer to what happened a century ago. The organizers invite citizens to attend this event, which will be held at 9:00 pm in the parish church of San Lorenzo Mártir and will have limited capacity.

Man arrested for cultivating marijuana

Civil Guard belonging to Icod de los Vinos, have arrested a 51-year-old man, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health (cultivation and processing of drugs). The operation began several weeks earlier, and the Guardia Civil after obtaining sufficient evidence, obtained a court order for entry and search of the dwelling. The detainee, who cultivated the marijuana obtained at least four harvests a year and periodically transferred the marijuana to Guargacho, Arona, where it was distributed. Construction of 3rd lane on TF-1 is necessary.

From June 6 the increased queues on the TF-1 South of Tenerife due to asphalt work being done, worsened the situation when gravel caused a cloud of dust which slowed the traffic. Drivers and southerners are experiencing traffic jams for up to an hour and half and it cannot be attributed exclusively to the works of asphalt, the increase in cars in region is rampant and the solution is the construction of third lane and development of road infrastructure in general. Finally – Water shortage

Today I read on Real Tenerife’s Facebook page that << According to the Spanish Met Office, it was one of the hottest Mays in the Canary Islands for nearly 100 years (the other 4 hot Mays all being in the last 17 years)>> This would seem to be backed by La Opinion who say that at the beginning of summer we have one-third of the water in our reservoirs than we had in 2016. This is mainly in the north of the island where it has dropped from 86% to 55%
