HANDS ACROSS TENERIFE

I don´t normally go in for promoting charity do’s there are just too many and I wouldn´t know where to draw the line. However, I have to ‘Take my HAT Off’ to this one as it really did catch my attention and the story as to why the event is taking place brought a tear to my eye.

This is Aaron, he is 10 years old and has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) a serious condition that starts in early childhood causing muscle weakness and for which there is currently no cure. Aaron is well aware of this and recently asked his Dad…’Am I going to die young?’ For goodness sake, how would you feel if your child said that to you?

Naturally on a small island word got out and the good folk of Tenerife decided that while they couldn´t find a miracle cure, they could certainly give Aaron a great time that he and his family wouldn´t forget in a hurry.

It is with this in mind that Hands across Tenerife (HAT) has been organised for 25th June. On that day, bars right across the southern resorts will be holding an entertainment afternoon from 14:00–18:00 there will be acts, raffles, auctions and of course, all who attend will be asked to wear a hat so there will be a

Big Hats Off For Aaron 🙂

If you would like to help in any way or want a list of venues, then contact the organisers through Facebook, Gordon King, Sandra Coats, Karen Brown, or Sharon Edens
