A Civil Guard agent adopts a mistreated dog.

Agents of the Civil Guard on La Gomera, conducted investigations on 16 February this year, investigating a 76-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of an animal abuse offense. They finally found the dog thrown down a ravine filled with a large number of cactus. Finally, one of the agents, accompanied by a private mountaineer reached the wounded animal that had serious head injuries that may have been carried out with a machete or similar and the agents managed transfer it to a Veterinary Centre. Yesterday afternoon the assaulted dog, was released and delivered for adoption to one of the agents of the Guard Civil who participated in his rescue. FULL STORY

Man, suffered fall in Santa Cruz

Yesterday afternoon National Police helped a 64-year-old man fell who in plaza Weyler. At the time of the mishap, there was a motorized patrol nearby that attended the victim along with two taxi drivers. The victim suffered head injuries and was taken by ambulance to a health centre in the capital, where he was admitted. Volunteers needed for coastal clean-up

On June 11th, a clean-up of the coast and seabed will be carried out in Puerto de Santiago. Those who wish to participate should meet at 10am in the square. This activity is part of the celebration of World Oceans Day.

A woman went out and forgot about her baby

A 40-year-old woman resident in Los Cristianos has been arrested in Playa de las Américas, for her aggressive behaviour. She went to a disco on April 12, and left her 20-month-old son at home alone. READ MORE
