If you want to spend a really original and enjoyable day, don’t miss coming to Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Plaza de Europa, Avenida Bravo Murillo) on Sunday, 4th June, to enjoy the European Tram Driver Championship with all the family. This is how Tranvía de Tenerife celebrates its first 10 years and 132 million passengers.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in a closed test circuit, drivers belonging to 24 teams from 14 countries (Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, Holland and Israel) will show their skills at the controls of the Citadis 302 model run by Tranvía de Tenerife.
Judges will assess driving skills in five runs: maximum speed and braking, clearance test, side stops, rear stops and tram bowling. This latter test is one of the most exciting and popular competitions. It consists in shooting a large ball from the tram to knock down half a dozen giant skittles.
