The XXVIII Guía de Vinos Wine Contest will be held this Sunday, March 26 at 10:30am in Chirche, with various activities that will culminate in the town square.
This particular wine contest is one of the oldest in the Canary Islands and has become a benchmark for others of this type. A variety of activities has been organised, such as thematic workshops for children and adults, talks for winemakers, tasting courses etc.
The jury will be composed of tasters from different regulatory councils of the island, who from 10:30 in the morning will choose the three winning wines from the whole island category and two for the craft category. The tasting in the square will be accompanied by music and the traditional dances by the municipal folkloric group, Sámara.
Also on Sunday will be a hiking route ‘Los Sentidos del Vino’ that will leave at 9.30, crossing vineyards of the municipality, through Aripe and finishing in Chirche.
