The Minister of Health has reached an agreement with the building contractor Sacyr so that work on the Hospital in the South of Tenerife will resume next Monday
This third phase is the construction of a surgical block, equipped with four operating rooms; an obstetric block, with three rooms and an operating room; two new hospitalization plants with obstetric and surgical beds, and other devices to support the hospital’s activity, such as the new services of Pharmacy and Sterilization.
This renewal is guaranteeing the quality of the materials, the meeting of deadlines and the budget stipulated in the specifications tender.
The work is to be carried out in a building attached to the Emergency Department, but should not interfere with the daily activities of the centre. When completed the Hospital will offer 96 beds and a TAC, in addition to having a cafeteria for the use of staff and the public. The final objective is to progressively activate the areas of hospitalization, surgery, and obstetrics, and to increase the services in specialized care in order to meet the health needs and growth of the population in the south and west of the island.
