The Ayuntamiento de Arona, at 2.45 this afternoon, 14th February published information on the findings from two technical reports on the causes of the collapse of the building in Calle Amalia Alayón, Los Cristianos last year when seven people died.
On May 19, 2016, Arona City Council commissioned two forensic engineering analysis companies Atlante and Technical Institute of Materials and Constructions to detect the causes of the incident and to avoid similar events in the future. The resulting reports were delivered in September and November 2016 to Arona Investigating Court No. 3.
The reports, which run to more than one thousand pages have not been made public until now so as not to prejudice the court investigations.
The formal investigations of the ruined building continued until the end May 2016, when ultrasound, electrical tomography, scanners and drones were used to evaluate the structure, in addition to sampling what remained standing.
