Demolition has begun of the building located at the entrance / exit of Playa de La Arena that has been empty for many years. In addition, there is also work to demolish the terraced apartment building at the entrance of Avenida Jose Gonzalez Forte de Los Gigantes that is in a state of neglect.

The Council say the demolition of these two structures is necessary, not just for the image that they have in the tourist areas but the lack of security that both structures present could lead to problems in the future.

  1. Steve says:

Why not turn it in to apartments?

The structure is there, the foundations will support it, why waste money tearing it down, spend the demolition money on converting it to apartments, much more useful.

  2. John Hall says:

Hope this theme catches on. There are several eyesores in Callao Salvaje
