Loro Parque begins the year 2017 with the birth of two Capybara pups, that are the largest rodents in the world. They had a totally normal birth on December 29th.
The young are born very developed with hair and teeth, and can reach 60 kilos. They are not yet on show to visitors and will be progressively introduced as they mature.
The animal lives in areas of Panama, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil or Venezuela, among others, and is noted for the amount of time it can spend in the water. They are so adapted to their aquatic environment tht they can close their nostrils and a fold covers their ear canal when they are immersed.
The underwater view that visitors have at Loro Parque delights visitors.
