The old square will be transformed into a new space, with garden areas and a playground. An underground car park will also be built.
This week the construction of a new plaza and parking have begun in the coastal town of Playa San Juan. The old church square will become a multifunctional space that will allow maximum use of public space and better conditions for nearby establishments.
“The one in Playa San Juan is the only town square that has not been renovated and is clearly in very bad shape,” explains the mayor, Pedro Martín. “This work was one of the things that we have not been able to carry out so far because it is a very ambitious project.
The municipal project seeks to recover this space for public use and provide the area with a car park for 84 cars, including 2 recharging points for electric vehicles.
The work that will cost almost €2.4m will be progressively developed so that access to businesses and shops will not be hindered during the duration of the work, which is expected to last for more than a year.
