Tour the capital of Tenerife with Virus Bike which, in addition to recommended circuits around the island, adapts to your needs with personalised itineraries. Start at the Auditorium of Tenerife, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava and emblem of the New Santa Cruz. The sea will be an inseparable companion during this first stretch as you pedal along Avenida Marítima. Take a break at the Plaza de España artificial lake and then stop to admire two of the gems of the port: the ‘Marquesina’ (metal shelter) and ‘Farola del Mar’ (lighthouse). If you wish to continue along the seashore, enjoy a pleasant 25 minute bike ride to Playa de Las Teresitas, one of the busiest beaches in Europe, whose golden sand was imported from the Sahara desert.

On your way back, you can enter the city centre. Cycle up the Ramblas until you reach the García Sanabria Park, making sure you do not miss the legacy of the First International Street Sculpture Exhibition of 1973, with works by Henry Moore, Joan Miró and Martín Chirino. Leave the Flower Clock behind you and pedal down Calle El Pilar; then cross Calle Castillo and its shops and take a look at the Guimerá Theatre. Afterwards, take in the charming Calle La Noria and the church of La Concepción, which make up the original nucleus of the city.
