Weather 23rd December 2016 – Los Cristianos/Las Americas

Can you see it? Yes, I know it is hard, that was the rain we had been told to expect. It came at 3.30pm yesterday afternoon and lasted for less than 5 minutes. We could hear the raindrops on the awning before seeing half a dozen fat splodges then it was over as quickly as it started. It returned during our girls walk at 5.00pm but once again, hardly enough to wet the ground and with a slight quickening of pace we were home and dry. The remainder of the day was a mixture of cloud and sunshine with temperatures in the mid-20s.

All a very different picture to today. I was woken by rain hammering on our door, roof, and windowpanes. Above the sky is dominated by tumbling greys, smoky and silver. For once, the weatherman got it right.
