Weather 23rd October 2016 – Los Cristianos/Las Americas

So today is what we have all been talking about for the past couple of weeks, the start of autumn and the possibility of seeing rain. When we get to the forecasts, they look interesting but right now here in Chayofa the sun was just rising, the sky is clear and temperatures are 22°C so we took a peaceful morning walk. Is this the calm before the storm?

Yesterday was a glorious day, totally blue sky, lots of sunshine but just as we were settling down to watch Strictly, I had to bring the blind in as a strong wind set up. It was so strong that it found a tiny tear in next doors awning and ripped the whole thing from top to bottom. It didn´t last long and soon died away but in that short period of time it ensured it will cost Paul money :-(.

I can´t ever remember having seen a forecast like it – there is a high possibility of rain everyday wherever you are on the island. Temperatures are also expected to drop to 20°C and below. After the hot weather we have had most of us will certainly feel a chill. In a perverse sort of way I am really excited and looking forward to the change.
