Storming the Castle

You can choose two ways: either uphill or downhill, but Calle Castillo (Castle Street in English) is a must for anyone who visits Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Golden Mile, as it is popularly known, has the greatest concentration of shops per square metre of the entire Island. It is a paradise where you can let yourself be tempted by fashion stores such as Encuentro, H&M, Sfera, Desigual, Mango, or the undeniable elegance of Forecast and Bimba y Lola.

Shoe lovers shouldn’t worry as there are more than enough shoe shops, such as Foot Locker specialised in sports footwear or a classic like Bata.

As we all know, shopping is an exhausting business, that’s why we recommend you take a break and look for a pavement table in Cafetería Palmelita, whose pastries and cakes will bring you back to life. Across the street, Tip-Top Bar is a classic; and if you want something more substantial, with authentic Canary flavour, El Puntero is a popular, cheap and unforgettable restaurant nearby.
