One of the most gratifying activities of the summertime (actually, it can be done all year round) consists of a refreshing seashore swim. Travellers have lots of different options, from volcanic, virgin, black-sanded beaches, normally found in the north of the Island, to the expanses of golden sands more frequent in the south. Besides, there are other, different ways of enjoying the ocean. On account of Tenerife’s volcanic origin, lava flows have taken capricious forms as they enter into contact with the sea, creating natural pools. There is a lot to be said for the feeling that the world stops still while you take a refreshing and peaceful dip in one of them.
