After a hot and uncomfortable night when it was hard to sleep because temperatures never dropped below 24° I woke up to a bright morning. We took our walk early when the sun was weak. As it happens it is still weak and watery and the sky is blue(is). We are supposed to have a calima but there doesn’t seem to be any horrible dust around, at least not yet and temperatures are now 28°.
Aemet issued a Special WEATHER WARNING for the HEATWAVE. Apparently, it is due to a mass of warm air situated above the islands and they said it would be mainly hotter inland and cooler on the coast. However 40°C were seen in some areas of Tenerife yesterday and even the southern coast was extremely hot. Fortunately, temperatures will start to go down on Sunday.
