For the next two days a yellow alert for the east, south and west of the island warns there is a risk that temperatures could once again rise to 34°C. Having said that it actually feels cooler this morning than it did yesterday. There is a weak sun, a hazy sky and once again La Gomera is hiding.
Yesterday, the heat pushed in and it felt claustrophobic as it reached 31°C in the shade. It was cooler by the coast than in the mountains. As we watched a lone fisherman stood on the edge of the rocks jutting into the sun’s rays. It was such a lovely setting that the man probably wasn’t too concerned if he got a bite or not, the tranquility was reward enough.
The following images are from Costa Adeje in the south of the island and Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island and are taken from the webcam yesterday at 12.00, 3.00 and 5.00. These times are approximate and are at whatever is the nearest before or after the hour.
