Unbelievable, in the time I have lived here, our village has never sat in the middle of cloud. This morning at 7.45 I thought it was the calima blocking the view of the coast, but by 8.15 it was covering the village. You could actually see it drifting in ghostly wisps by the windows. There is also a strong(ish) breeze that is moving the palm trees and temperatures at the moment are 25°C. The three images below are taken of the same place, not exactly as it just kept vanishing, and I had to zoom further and further in as the cloud got thicker to find the white house – now it has totally VANISHED as has Mt Guaza!
We had a full blown calima yesterday, thick smog from morning until evening and extremely hot with the thermometer rarely dropping below 34°C until 8.30pm when it fell to 28°C.
The following images are from Costa Adeje in the south of the island and Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island and are taken from the webcam yesterday at 12.00, 3.00 and 5.00. These times are approximate and are at whatever is the nearest before or after the hour.
