Answering the call of nature at 6.00 this morning it looked like the middle of the day it was so bright. It was obviously cooler than it had been when going to bed at 1.00am because I had unconsciously turned off the ceiling fan and was covered with the duvet. Now fully awake it is a bright and sunny morning. No clouds, and still what is the hint of a mild calima on that fuzzy horizon. Temperatures are 22°C.
I squeezed in an extra post yesterday warning of the high temperatures we are about to have over the next two days. Today the two main islands, Gran Canaria and the west, south and east of Tenerife are already on a yellow warning, with temperatures expected to hover around 34°C in the shade. Tomorrow that is raised to Orange here in the south, east and west of Tenerife where it could get to 37°C, pretty intense.
The following images are from Costa Adeje in the south of the island and Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island and are taken from the webcam yesterday at 12.00, 3.00 and 5.00. These times are approximate and are at whatever is the nearest before or after the hour.
