Weather 15th July 2016 – Los Cristianos/Las Americas

Facebook has a lot to answer for, got waylaid this morning and as I am so much later posting so the temperature has also moved on and it is now 25°C.  The sky is blue but still hazy so while we may have a calima it is only a light one and not too much dust, although I am still sniffling. 😦

Yesterday we had to go up to Arona, and it was hot, after our appointment, we sat in a tiny bar/restaurant where we had gone to cool down because the higher you get up the mountain the hotter it gets. (Check out Granadilla on the map 38! in the shade at 4.00pm) The afternoon continued with temperatures well into the 30s and in the sun those temperatures reached the high 40s.

With the islands still under threat of wildfires due to the heat.   The cabildo have banned bbqs, power tools, and agricultural clearance. They ask that people do not go to the forests while the alert is on. If you see fire or smoke then ring 112. Should you want more advice on what you should do if you are close to a fire check  THIS LINK for official advice.

The following images are from Costa Adeje in the south of the island and Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island and are taken from the webcam yesterday at 12.00, 3.00 and 5.00. These times are approximate and are at whatever is the nearest before or after the hour.
