This is particularly so at sports bars or in some of the larger hotels. Local Teams

Tenerife is also home to some impressive football teams in its own right, so during your stay on the island, why not become acquainted with a local match? It can prove a rewarding experience to watch a local team play, and it is not expensive to get hold of tickets. The most famous local football team in Tenerife is the Club Deportivo Tenerife (or CD), who are based in Santa Cruz. The team has been around for a while, with a history spanning around 100 years. Matches usually draw crowds in excess of 10,000. Regular buses from the south can quickly transport you to Santa Cruz, so watching a football match is still an option, even if you haven’t hired a car. CD San Isidro is another popular football team in Tenerife, although it has only been around for the last 40 years, and is by no means as famous as CD. It is based in Granadilla de Abona. CD Marino is a good choice of team for anyone staying in the south of the island, as the club is based close to Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos.
