Día de las Islas Canarias

Canary Islands’ Day is celebrated every year on May 30th.  The are great celebrations all over the island many relating to how the island used to be in days gone by.

If you visit any of these festivities you can get to see how Tenerfinos let their hair down and celebrate their island.  Expect to enjoy traditional food, folk music, dancing to a Canarian orchestra and traditional Canarian sports, such as stick-fighting and Lucha Canaria (a type of sumo wrestling but wearing more clothes).  I hope everyone has a Happy Canary Islands Day.
