The best restaurants in Tenerife

Of course the following is just the opinion of Holidays Tenerife I have my own view and no doubt you have yours.

Tenerife has an enviable selection of restaurants that serve Canarian cuisine and a range of international foods such as British and Japanese sushi.

With so much choice it can be difficult to choose where you are going to eat, especially if you are just on a week-long Playa de las Americas holiday. To give you a helping hand we have come up with a guide to some of the best restaurants in Tenerife.

Hard Rock Cafe Tenerife

Located right in the heart of the famous Golden Mile in Playa de Las Américas, Hard Rock Cafe Tenerife is the biggest café in all of Europe and can cater for over 600 people.

Eaters can not only enjoy great food and drink, but can enjoy live music from a variety of local musicians.

Now to Hard Rock Cafe Tenerife’s food. The fact that it has a TripAdvisor Excellence Certificate should give you enough of a persuasion to dine here, but Hard Rock Café offers a variety of delicious foods from Hickory BBQ Bacon Cheeseburgers and BBQ Chicken to Twisted Mac Chicken and cheese and Blackened Chicken Pasta.

Hard Rock Cafe Tenerife also boasts a unique rock shop where you can pick up souvenirs and other musical memorabilia.

Deli on the hill

Deli on the hill was set up by Hannah and Vicki Proverbs Howe back in June 2012. It is a bar cafeteria that makes everything fresh. All the delicious cakes at the eatery are made by Vicki and they range from salted caramel triple chocolate brownie, gluten-free orange cakes using vegetables as a substitute for butter and Carrot Cake (one of the most popular choices). Fellow owner, Hannah makes all the savouries, which includes quiches, sausage rolls and pies, daily salads, and sandwiches made to order.

Deli on the hill’s selection of tea is quite extensive and their coffee, Italian Lavazza, is served with fresh milk.

Deli on the hill offers visitors a really relaxed, happy atmosphere and this is one of the reasons why it has a large regular client base. The café is based in Puerto Santiago, near Los Gigantes on the West Coast of Tenerife, and the stunning views from the café mean that diners can see the island of La Gomera.

Empire Modern British Restaurant & Steak House

One of the newest additions to the Venture Group Restaurants chain is the Empire Modern British Restaurant & Steak House in Playa de las Americas.

With Brits commonly going on trips and holidays in Tenerife, it is no surprise that this restaurant, which has a traditional British menu, is very popular with British holidaymakers.

Fish and chips, bangers and mash and steak and ale pie are just some classic British dishes that you can try here.

CHAR Modern British Restaurant & Steak House

Located in the pretty fishing village of La Caleta, CHAR Modern British Restaurant & Steak House is another restaurant you just have to eat at.

The menu combines traditional Spanish foods with a slight international twist and features dishes such as Spanish tapas, fresh market fish dishes and select cuts provided by their very own butchers.

El Cine

Located by the Los Cristianos Harbour is El Cine, seen as one of the best restaurants in Tenerife and this is backed up by the fact that it has been serving delicious dishes for over 30 years.

The menu is packed full of delicious traditional Canarian dishes and if you like fish then you are in for a treat as the restaurant is renowned for its fish dishes.

La Nonna

The La Nonna Restaurant in Costa Adeje is also regarded by many as one of the best restaurants on the island.

The restaurant specialises in Mediterranean dishes such as Italian, French, Spanish and Greek and diners can enjoy these fabulous dishes on four different terraces, one of which looks over downtown Las Americas. La Nonna is famed for its desserts and one of the most popular desserts is its chocolate crème brûlée with sour cherries.

Annie and I had lovely meals in Bahia Verde and Galle Nero down by Paloma Beach. Both family run, small restaurants with a good and varied European menu and both did excellent Tiramisu! 😉 Certainly think they are worth a visit.
