Arona will have the first theme hotel in Tenerife

Arona is set to have one of the best hotels in Spain. It will be the first themed hotel in Tenerife. Its total investment exceeds 47 million euros, it will be five-star category with a capacity for 400.

This unique mega-project is to be built, on a plot of 45,700 square meters bought 15 years ago, next to Golf Las Americas and opposite the headquarters of the National Police, a strategic location within easy reach of Magma Arts and Congress and practically adjacent to the highway. Currently the area is an ugly cityscape by day and haunted by prostitutes at night.

According to the information in DAILY NOTICES, the hotel will be eight floors with 39 units on each and will occupy 20,280 square meters. It will have a dozen Premium and 15 junior suites, plus 11 rooms specially equipped for the disabled. The remainder of the land will house a large natural park inspired by the resorts of the Riviera Maya with water circuits, cenotes, caves, waterfalls, and lush vegetation.

Visitors can enjoy a range of leisure incentives hitherto unknown in conventional tourist hotels, for example, canoeing and diving, touring a lake, all without leaving the premises. The current rocky formation of unique features will be integrated as a central element in the water circuits, the epicentre of leisure activities.

Behind the project is the Spanish company Aspro Parks, which currently manages 62 parks in 11 European countries and annually receives 14 million visitors. The company has been around for 25 years. In the South of Tenerife, Aspro Parks has the dolphinarium Aquapark in Las Americas and Las Aguilas del Teide.

It is expected to create 300 jobs once the facility opens its doors. However, employment expectations in the construction period, estimated between 24 and 27 months, are about 500 jobs. Once the period of information to the public elapses (expected April 2016) the final version of the project will be completed within nine months. If all goes as expected, the first work will begin in early 2017.
